Welcome to my Web Site! This is your starting point for assignment information, schedules, important announcements and anything else that will be happening in our class this year. As an educator, my mission is to ensure my students are successful; not just in my classroom, but in life as well. In order to achieve this goal, I will help students develop effective problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities. By providing a positive learning environment and exhibiting an enthusiastic attitude everyday, I will help my students develop into lifelong learners. I will recognize the individuality of each student, and do whatever is necessary to meet their needs. I will establish high expectations for my students; both academically and behaviorally and I will challenge my students to live up to these expectations, allowing them to rise to their potential. About Me... In case you were curious, here's a little information about myself.I was born in Mesa, Arizona, and spent most of my youth in California and Montana. I graduated from Western Montana College and earned my Master's degree in Education through Walden University. I am currently working on my doctoral degree (Ed. D.) through Walden as well. I have been teaching 8th grade American History at TRMS for the past 11 years. Before I came to Tennessee, I taught for three years on an Indian reservation in Montana. I was the High School history teacher, as well as the J. V. Boy's Basketball coach, and Head Girl's Basketball coach. My wife Sherrie and I have a terrific daughter, Chelsey (recently engaged!), who is beginning her senior year at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Some of my hobbies include following the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers during the NFL season, playing chess whenever I can find an opponent, and fishing when the weather is nice.
